I'm Still on the Hype

Kanye at the GLOW IN THE DARK TOUR in HP Pavilion last Saturday.

I gotta say, I've seen a lot of shows in my time, but, this was probably the best RAP show I have ever seen. Ye really came through for this show. Fran and I saw his show here last time a couple of years ago and I thought it was crap, but this time, he came in Michael Jackson esk with the show and the showmanship (minus the dancing). The show was like Captain E.O. meets Star Tours meets Hip Hop. And that was the thing, I mean it was technically a HIP HOP show and I know there are better lyricists and rappers out there, but come on, I don't think the great rappers of today can do a show like this. Kanye was out there for an hour plus, never left the stage, one water break, which was a part of the show, and had a story line to the show. Pyro-technics, a moon surface looking stage, a movable dance floor, and some crazy ass big screens behind him. He really stepped it up, especially with the big EGO angle, no guest apperances, and no visibility to his band and singers who were underneath him, Broadway orchestra style and no encore (Do you want More). But that was what I got out of it, it seems like he paid off some Broadway dude or some super POP concert dude to help him put together his show or something. Two thumbs up from me, its really worth it. Here is his intro we saw at San Jose. Thanks Mz.
(sorry about the view, the zoom on my camera is wack.)

AZ is BACK

Don't get me wrong, I love AZ and all, but the dude never comes sick with the whole Album. I mean he ALWAYS comes sick as a feature, especially on NAS' tracks. Every time AZ drops an LP, there is just one or two coo song on it. Is this the one that gonna be good front to back? So far so good and I'm just on track 1. You be the JUDGE...

"Super High Me"

Sundays are considered our "Sunday Stew" where we all gather up and watch a movie or get a mid-day buzz at a dive bar or something. This past Sunday, after a fun-filled visit to Japan town for the Cherry Blossom festival, we headed out to the Roxie in the Mission and watched this movie by one of the dudes from best week ever that blazes 24/7 for 30 days. I'll recommend it.

New Developments in the SF Nightclub Measure.

So if you haven't heard the word, the city is trying to propose a new bill that states that night club promoters have to get insurance, a promoter card, and blah blah blah in order to stop the violence done by a couple of bad apples. So far, mass criticism has the Mayor thinking second thoughts and is in a redrafting process of the measure. The people have spoken, here's the latest…

BTW.
The Entertainment Commission will discuss a proposed law to require entertainment promoters to obtain permits if they host more than a single San Francisco event in a year. The commission will meet at 4 p.m. Tuesday in City Hall, Room 408.

Bridge Protests!
So SF is the only North American city where the Olympic Torch will pass by tomorrow, I wonder what will happen? So far, we had folks in Paris extinguishing the flame a couple of times and 3 folks scale the bridge to hang a banner. Everybody is hating on China because of all the crazy shit that they are doing in Tibet. Man, I wonder if a Free Tibet Concert is in the works. I remember back in the day the Beastie Boys had a Free Tibet Tour with them and Tribe headlining. Sick. I would go to a Free Tibet show with Jeezy and Ross headlining.
